Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the SYECO platform ("Service"), operated by Sisei Youth Environmental Conservation Organisation, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

SYECO provides a digital platform for environmental consultancy services across East Africa, including:

  • Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Social Impact Assessment (SIA) report management
  • GIS sensitivity mapping and environmental data visualisation
  • Water scarcity footprint assessment using AWARE methodology
  • Digital public participation tools
  • Tree Nursery Marketplace for buying and selling tree seedlings
  • Green Schools Initiative programme management

3. User Accounts

To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account

4. Tree Nursery Marketplace Terms

The Tree Nursery Marketplace connects nursery owners with potential buyers. Please note:

  • No Payment Processing: SYECO does not process payments between buyers and sellers. All transactions are arranged directly between the parties.
  • Listing Accuracy: Nursery owners are responsible for the accuracy of their seedling listings, including pricing, availability, and descriptions.
  • Communication: The in-app messaging system is provided for legitimate business communication. Misuse may result in account suspension.
  • No Guarantee: SYECO does not guarantee the quality, condition, or delivery of seedlings. We facilitate connections but are not a party to transactions.

5. Environmental Data & Reports

Environmental data and reports generated through the platform:

  • Remain the property of the client who commissioned them
  • Must comply with NEMA, EMCA, and applicable environmental regulations
  • May be shared with regulatory bodies as required by law
  • Should not be used for fraudulent or misleading purposes

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to solicit illegal activities
  • Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent environmental data
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other user accounts or system resources
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
  • Harvest or collect user information without consent
  • Post spam, misleading listings, or inappropriate content on the Marketplace

7. Intellectual Property

The SYECO platform, including its design, logos, software, and content, is the intellectual property of Sisei Youth Environmental Conservation Organisation. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Kenyan law, SYECO shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. This includes but is not limited to damages from marketplace transactions, environmental data inaccuracies, or service interruptions.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms, with or without prior notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved through the courts of Kenya.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
